Tyee Club member and 35 year veteran rower Norm Lee will present the history of Campbell River's famous Tyee Club. The presentation will highlight photos used in the current exhibit that is on at the Museum, and will include stories from Club, whose history spans almost 90 years. The Tyee Club was formed in 1925, and its five founding directors included one from Vancouver, two from the United States, and the Governor of Bermuda. This was an era when distance posed real barriers to communication and travel. The club’s international membership says much about the reputation of the waters that spawned the organization. Come join us on Sunday, September 23 from 1-2:30pm for this celebration of a very special organization that is unique to our town.
