Ever since 2008, February 21st in Campbell River has been officially known as Roderick Haig-Brown Day.  On the 100th anniversary of his birthday, the City of Campbell River proclaimed that his valuable contributions to Canadian society should be officially recognized each year.  His contributions at a national level were further recognized in 2016 when Roderick was designated as a Person of National Historic Significance.

This year special showings of the film of the first Haig-Brown Memorial Lecture “Remembering Roderick Haig-Brown” will be held February 21st at 1pm and 3pm in the Van Isle Theatre at the Museum at Campbell River. Admission to see the film is by donation.

The Museum at Campbell River is located at 470 Island Highway.  For more information call the Museum at 250-287-3103 or see
