• The King and Queen of Siam (now Thailand) visit Campbell River.

• While on a vacation in Canada, the King and Queen of Siam came to Campbell River in hopes of catching some legendary Tyee.  The visit was organized by the Campbell River District Board of Trade, along with Ned Painter who arranged the fishing guides.  The Queen caught the largest fish of the visit, but unfortunately no one was able to land a Tyee.

• The Painter family builds a group of cabins across from their sport fishing tent camp on the Tyee Spit.  These are the forerunners of the world famous Painter's Lodge.
