From its opening in 1952, the ‘Mill’, as it was commonly known played a key role in the economy of Campbell River and area.

For many residents of Campbell River, the closing of the Catalyst Pulp and Paper Mill marked an historic moment.  Symbolic of the changing times in Campbell River, it reminds us of how a village grew into a town due in large part to the influence of the mill and the large numbers of people it employed from the time the Elk Falls Mill first opened for operations in1952.

The Museum is presenting an historic overview of its history, comprised of anecdotes and stories from interviews with former Mill personnel, first hand knowledge from the presenters, Danny Brown and Norm Lee, and many early photos.

The presentation starts at 1pm.  Cost for the program is $6.00
