The recent global boom in mega projects has shed valuable data on their dangerous economics. They are mostly over budget, over schedule and under benefits, over and over again. Drawing upon the experience of Manitoba’s Keeyask Dam and Newfoundland’s Muskrat Falls Dam, Nikiforuk will explain why the approval of Site C will be slow moving political, economic and ecological train wreck that will affect every electrical consumer in the province.

For more than two decades Andrew Nikiforuk has written about energy, economics and the West for a variety of Canadian publications including the Walrus, Maclean’s, Canadian Business, The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business, Chatelaine, Georgia Straight, The Tyee, Equinox and Harrowsmith.

The talk is part of the Museum's Diamond Anniversary Lecture Series.  It is from 1-2:30pm and costs $7 per person.
