This year's Haig-Brown Writer in Residence, Andrew Nikiforuk, will be holding a series of talks at the Museum.  His topics are both current and thought-provoking.  The last talk will be held Saturday, March 29,  1-3:00pm.

Fracking and the LNG Gold Rush

The government of British Columbia believes that the exploitation of shale gas and LNG projects will define the province’s future and deliver unparalleled riches. Yet the extreme nature of the resource as well as the brute force technology (horizontal hydraulic fracturing) needed to extract it, will likely humble government plans and economic forecasts. An overview of the critical issues for citizens: the owners of the resource.
